The 32nd Japan Three-Day March


1.      Dates

1(Sun.)/2(Mon.)/3(Tue. National Holiday) November 2009

2.      Start & Finish Point

Schoolyard of Matsuyama Daiichi Elementary School. See directions to the Start Point.

3.      Course

Choose from 4 different courses.  All courses are well marked with colored signs.
10km and 20km participants can start from 7:00.

4.      Pre-Registration

Complete the Application Form and mail it to TOBU TRAVEL by Oct 05, 2009.

You will then receive a confirmation card with detailed info by Oct. 20.

Participants should bring the conformation card for check-in on Oct. 31, and pay entry fee JPY5,000 in cash (JPY4,000 for under 19).  Pre-registration ensures that participants will receive the awards and walking souvenirs.

5.      Registration

Registration will remain open during the Three-Day March.  Please notice that late-registration do not ensure all participants for receiving awards and event souvenirs.

6.      Check-in

All individual/group participants must checkin on sat, Oct. 31 at the FOREIGN PARTICIPANT'S REGISTRATION DESK, located at the Start/Finish Point.  The desk is open from 12:00 to 20:00.  You will receive an entree package including: course map, control card, event program, walking number ("Zekken"), and event souvenirs.

7.      Awards

‐Participants will receive a Finisher's Medal or a Finisher's Pin according to their number of marches completed.  1st/5th/10th/20th time finishers will 

  receive the Medal(1st medal is only for foreigers).  Others will receive the Pin.

One/two day finishers will receive a commemorative march certificate only.

International Walkers completing 8 IML chartered walks will receive the International Master Walkers Clip.

IVV participants will receive stamps in both event and distance booklet everyday.

8.      General Information

‐This March is not a competition.  Participants should walk at their speed of choice.

‐The organization is not responsible or accountable for any loss or injury. 

‐Any person in good health condition can participate in the March.  However, disabled persons and infants must be accompanied. 

‐Participants should abide by the walking rules.

‐Submission of a medical check is not required.  However, participants are strongly urged to take a medical check.

‐The entry fee is non-refundable, regardless of the reason of cancellation. 

‐Participants are required to walk with the designated "Zekken" (a sort of walking number) indicating name and walking distance.

‐There is food & drink, souvenirs, and walking goods available at Start/Finish Point.

‐Participants can use free medical-aid/drink stations at Start/Finish Point and along the courses.  Bring your own cup!  Plastic or paper cups are 

     not used  during the march for environmental protection.

Flags, banners and accessories are welcome.

‐Voluntary interpreters are ready to help you to communicate with Japanese people.  The interpreters wear a ribbon on the left arm.

9.      March Information

‐Participants can change the walking distance every day. However IML participants are required to walk at least 20km per day by IML rules.

‐IML participants should receive stamps for IML Passports on the LAST day. After completing the march,find the IML DESK. 

‐IVV participants should receive stamps for IVV booklets EVERY DAY after completing walk.

For accommodation in Higashi-Matsuyama, please pay at the Registration Desk on Oct. 31.
For accommodation in Tokyo, please pay when you check-out the Hotel.
